Employees - Policy 3.1

A. PAY PERIODS

Pay periods run from the first through the last day of each month. Paydays are the 10th of the month following the last pay period. Paydays may be adjusted if they fall on a weekend.

B. PAY SCALE

The pay scale for employees is as follows:
           
Starting pay rate for Life Skills Instructors is $9.30 per hour. Incremental raises are as follows:

  • $9.50 at 1 year
  • $9.70 at 2 years
  • $9.90 at 3 years
  • $10.10 at 4 years
  • $10.30 at 5 years
  • $10.50 at 6 years
  • $10.70 at 7 years

Starting pay rate for Team Support Specialists is $10.90 per hour. Incremental raises are as follows:

  • $11.15 at 1 year
  • $11.40 at 2 years
  • $11.65 at 3 years
  • $11.90 at 4 years
  • $12.15 at 5 years
  • $12.40 at 6 years
  • $12.65 at 7 years

Starting pay for Team Leaders is $11.65 per hour. Incremental raises are as follows:

  • $11.92 at 1 year
  • $12.20 at 2 years
  • $12.47 at 3 years
  • $12.74 at 4 years
  • $13.03 at 5 years
  • $13.33 at 6 years
  • $13.64 at 7 years

Starting pay for Client Support Specialists is $12.25 per hour. Incremental raises are as follows:

  • $12.52 at 1 year
  • $12.80 at 2 years
  • $13.07 at 3 years
  • $13.34 at 4 years
  • $13.63 at 5 years
  • $13.93 at 6 years
  • $14.24 at 7 years

Starting pay for Program Coordinators is $14.52 per hour. Incremental raises are as follows:

  • $14.86 at 1 year
  • $15.20 at 2 years
  • $15.59 at 3 years
  • $15.95 at 4 years
  • $16.33 at 5 years
  • $16.73 at 6 years
  • $17.15 at 7 years

C. Employees may be started at higher than the base rate to compensate for past work experience. Exceptions are made at the discretion of the Executive Director.

D. OVERTIME

Director of Client Services needs to pre-approve any overtime hours. Overtime pay is one and a half times the normal rate. Employees will be responsible to add up their own hours each week to insure they are not working overtime which has not been approved.

E. HOLIDAY PAY

Staff are paid time and a half for working on approved holidays. Approved holidays are:

  1. New Years Eve 4:00 pm through 11:59 pm New Years Day
  2. Memorial Day 12:00am through 11:59pm
  3. July 4th, 12:00 am through 11:59 pm
  4. Labor Day 12:00am through 11:59pm
  5. Thanksgiving Day 12:00 am through 11:59 pm
  6. Christmas Eve 4:00 pm through 11:59 pm Christmas Day

F. REIMBURSEMENT FOR COMMUNITY INTEGRATION ACTIVITIES

Staff will take clients on community outings. Staff may be reimbursed up to $5.00 for approved C.I. activities. Costs over $5.00 will be paid by the client(s).

Staff will not be reimbursed for any food purchased.

G. FRINGE BENEFITS

The money Kokua allocates for the payment of Fringe Benefits is called the Fringe Benefit Pool. Fringe benefits may not be taken in added salary.

After the training period, employees who average 32 hours or more per week of regularly scheduled shifts are eligible for benefits. The benefit package may vary from year to year depending on costs. If an eligible employee drops hours and no longer works 32 hours per week, the employee will be terminated from the policy and has the option of going on a COBRA insurance plan.
