Residential Support Staff

SUPERVISION:

Residential Support Staff persons function as a part of a self-directed work team.  Individual team members are answerable to the whole team for the quality of their work performance.  As part of team membership, individual team members participate in the performance evaluation process for other team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must not be a convicted felon and must not have a history of violence or sexually aggressive behavior.  This position requires patience, good judgment and a willingness to learn new skills.  Applicants must have good work references and must commit themselves to work cooperatively in a work team environment.

DUTIES:

  • Function as an actively participating member of a residential work team, including regular attendance at team meetings.
  • Display courtesy and respect for clients at all times.
  • Work actively to support client IISP goals.
  • Share responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the client’s home. 
  • Assist with meal preparation, shopping, client hygiene, financial record keeping and client appointments.
  • Provide accurate and consistent documentation as required per WAC and policy.
  • Use respectful language and demeanor with coworkers.
  • Dress modestly.  Use professional conduct in representing clients and the agency in the wider community.
